Minute for Hope – When the World Feels Broken, We Need To Act

Writer's picture: Mika VanhanenMika Vanhanen

The world seems to be spiraling out of control, day by day. The news is filled with conflicts, environmental crises, and growing divisions. It feels as if hope is slipping away – as if one person’s actions don’t matter in the midst of all this chaos.

But when everything seems darkest, hope is more important than ever. Not just as a feeling or a wish, but as action.

Hope is not about waiting – it is built through action

Each of us has the power to make a difference, even if only for a moment. That is why the Minute for Hope campaign was born: what can we achieve together in just one minute?

📅 On 21 March at 12:00, we invite everyone to take a minute for hope.

  • 🌳 Plant a tree or care for one already planted

  • 🤝 Do a good deed for someone – even the smallest kindness can change a day

  • 📢 Share hope – through words, photos, or actions that inspire others

  • 🔗 Invite friends, family, colleagues, schools, or even your city to join

Small actions, big impact

One minute is not enough to change the world. But it is enough to bring light and strengthen our belief in the future. It is a reminder that even the smallest actions matter – that we are not powerless, that together, we can create ripples of change.

💚 One minute can be the beginning of something bigger. What will you do?
